Structural, Functional and Bioactivity of PPTN20CP: A Potential Drug Target

Protoplasmic tension band (PPTN20CP, bA164N7.3) is a protein that plays a key role within cells. PPTN20CP is responsible for many important biological processes in cells, such as cell division, cell growth, apoptosis, etc. In many diseases, abnormal expression or dysfunction of PPTN20CP can lead to serious health problems. Therefore, PPTN20CP has become a research subject that has attracted much attention. This article will introduce the structure, function, biological activity and possible drug targets of PPTN20CP.

Structure of PPTN20CP

PPTN20CP is a mouse homolog of proteins belonging to the heat shock family. Its name comes from its secondary structure, which consists of two interacting 尾-helix and three 伪-helical units (Figure 1). The molecular weight of PPTN20CP is 164 kDa and consists of 164 amino acids. Its protein domain includes an N-terminal 伪-helix, a central 尾-helix, a C-terminal 伪-helix and a phosphorylation modification region (Figure 2).

Biological functions of PPTN20CP

PPTN20CP plays many important biological functions in cells. In mitosis, the 伪-helix of PPTN20CP can bind DNA and play a role in maintaining the stability of the chromosome structure (Figure 3). During cell growth, the 尾-helix of PPTN20CP can bind to growth factors and promote cell growth (Figure 4). During the process of cell apoptosis, the 伪-helix of PPTN20CP can bind to apoptosis-related proteins and promote cell apoptosis (Figure 5).

Biological activity of PPTN20CP

PPTN20CP has a variety of biological activities. First, PPTN20CP is a key regulator of apoptosis. Studies have shown that the activity of PPTN20CP is closely related to cell apoptosis. When the expression level of PPTN20CP decreases, apoptosis increases, and when the expression level of PPTN20CP increases, apoptosis decreases (Figure 6). Secondly, PPTN20CP also has
