GNA14: A GPCR Receptor for Intracellular Signaling in Tumors
GNA14, or G alpha-14, is a protein that is expressed in various tissues throughout the body. It is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) family, which is a large family of transmembrane proteins that play a critical role in cellular signaling. GNA14 is known for its role in the intracellular signaling pathway known as the Shaker/boxin-activated receptor (GRP/R) signaling pathway.
The GRP/R signaling pathway is involved in a wide range of physiological processes in the body, including cell survival, growth, and differentiation. It is activated by various molecules, including hormones, growth factors, extracellular vesicles and neurotransmitters, etc. . In tumorigenesis, the GRP/R signaling pathway is considered an important switch that can promote the growth and progression of tumor cells.
The role of GNA14 in the GRP/R signaling pathway is to regulate signal transduction by binding to GRP/R receptors. It is composed of two subunits, one of which is a G伪 helix and the other subunit is an 伪 helix. GRP/R receptor is a membrane protein composed of two major subunits, including an 伪-helix and two 尾-loops. GNA14 binds to GRP/R receptors through its 伪-helix, thereby regulating GRP/R receptor signal transduction.
Studies have shown that GNA14 is up-regulated in a variety of tumors, including breast cancer, lung cancer, prostate cancer, and neuroblastoma. The expression level of GNA14 is also related to tumor invasiveness and metastasis. In addition, GNA14 is also related to the efficacy of some chemotherapy drugs such as cisplatin and carboplatin in the treatment of ovarian cancer and lung cancer.
Because of its important biological significance in tumors, GNA14 is considered a potential drug target. Currently, researchers are exploring the role of GNA14 in tumor treatment and studying GNA14 antagonists in order to provide new treatment options for tumor patients.
Protein Name: G Protein Subunit Alpha 14
